California Proposition 50 Passes with 63.8% Approval
California voters approved Proposition 50, a constitutional amendment allowing the state legislature to redraw congressional district maps for the 2026, 2028, and 2030 elections. The measure, known as the 'Election Rigging Response Act,' is designed to counter Republican redistricting efforts in other states and could flip up to five Republican-held House seats to Democratic control in the Central Valley, Riverside County, Bay Area, and Sierra Nevada regions.
